In Silico Study of Eugenol and trans-Caryophyllene also Clove Oil Fumigant Toxicity on Tribolium castaneum

Alternative storage pest control that is more environmentally friendly than the use of synthetic chemical pesticides to botanical from plant essential oils, including clove (Syzygium aromaticum) which contains main compounds eugenol and trans-caryophyllene. To study various mechanisms action oils as insecticides could in silico approach through molecular docking. This aims predict dominant binding mode(s) a ligand with protein known three-dimensional structure Then tested its fumigant activity on Tribolium castaneum. The docking results showed trans-caryophyllene had stable bond strength acetylcholinesterase enzyme T. castaneum compound linalool. In addition, there synergy between when two interact acetylcholinesterase. These can be used prediction material have potential inhibitors After being laboratory, oil namely trans-caryophylene has an LC50 value 5,227 μL/L air.
